Things are thawing and that means MUD and lots of it! The ewes are all pregnant and due to lamb in late March or April. Spring is just around the corner.
We have been collecting up to 15 eggs a day. So beginning next week we will be selling eggs for $3.00 a dozen from the farm. Look for the eggs sign, if it is out front we have eggs available. Eggs from our chicken are far superior to any from the store. Our chickens have access to our 19 acres anytime they want. The chickens love to forage for seeds and worms. We supplement their diet with mixed grains, some of the grain we purchase and the rest we grow ourselves.
Paul purchased a vintage manure spreader last week from Mr. Taylor. This will cut the barn cleaning work in half.
